Steady progress
Dan's progress continues steadily, the catheter has been removed and they are only feeding intravenously at night. Today he started eating again, he's under pressure to eat otherwise they won't remove the tube, not always that easy because it is hospital food and we're not allowed to take him food. His white cell count increases a little bit each day which means his body can start fighting infections again, he regularly gets blood and platelets when needed. From the daily blood tests they pick up that there are potassium and albumen deficiences that need to be fixed, but this has largely been caused by lack of nutrition. His whole body is still itching from all the skin peeling off but I've told him that he'll be a new man after all this, new hair, new skin, stomach cleaned out. Not sure if he'll be home for Christmas because that is just around the corner...
