Back 'home' to bone marrow unit
This afternoon Dan was moved back to the bone marrow unit, we hope not to have to visit ICU again, they did a great job and the sister, Carmel, who looked after him was great. From early this morning he was begging to get out of there and back to bone marrow, by the afternoon the doctor said he could be moved back. ICU is a very busy noisy unit with very sick people and you really don't want to stay there longer than necessary. His lungs can now cope without oxygen, the problem now is his mouth. I have never in my life seen such a sore mouth, the entire outside is just sores and bloody, he can't eat and struggles to talk because of it. He was very happy to be back to his 'home' of the last 3 weeks, now lets hope that mouth heals in the next few days so we can feed him to get back to strength again.
