All going well next chemo on the horizon
Opa Rien went for his checkup to day and was given the all clear, he can become mobile again. He will have regular blood tests so that the medication to thin the blood can be adjusted as necessary. Dan is doing great, he has really regained a lot of strength in the 2 weeks at home, we're a bit apprehensive how the second chemo will go but we'll take it 1 day at a time. Clive and Paul are with friends in Langebaan for a week, so they're enjoying their holiday and making it easier for me at home. Tonight Dan and I are going to braai by opa Rien except we don't really eat much meat anymore, no steak, chops etc and we don't eat raw salads. It's amazing how everything changes so quickly, a man that loved lamb chops and t-bone steaks now enjoys mince, litle bit of chicken and a piece of fish, meat doesn't feature highly at all. Is it not every man's dream to not have to shave for 4 weeks, that's what chemo does to your hair. Dan's hands and feet are now as soft as a baby's as all the old skin has been shed, there are still parts of his body peeling, now it's his nails that also seem to be renewing. He is literally a new man.
